Hello Angels,
July and August mean summer is in full swing in Rome. The city is emptying out as people head to the beach for some relaxing hours out in the sunshine.
I am honestly not a beach person but there are many people who loves to go to beach. When my friends visit Rome in summer, their first question is where is the best beach nearby Rome?
There are plenty of great nearby beaches and I can’t recommend only one place. So I would like to share the best beaches near Rome.
Anzio
It is located in south of Rome. It has a clean water which has been awarded the Bandiera Blu ( an award for cleanliness and water quality ).
Santa Marinella
Santa Marinella is one of the best beaches very close to Rome. It is located in a quaint bay and has clear water.
You can take the train from any major station in Rome (Trastevere, Termini, San Pietro) to Santa Marinella. The beach is just a five minute walk from the station.
Santa Severa
It is just one stop prior to Santa Marinella. The impressive castle make this beach more beautiful.
Torre Astura
If you want something unique, Torre Astura is a hidden gem in Lazio. You can only arrive by car and have to trek 30 minutes to reach the beach.
Sperlonga
Sperlonga is a nice beach town should be visited. It has beautiful white, sandy beach and has a nice water.
Sabaudia
It is located in south of Rome. It is also recognized with the Bandiera Blue award. If you prefer less crowded place, Sabaudia is perfect choice because train doesn’t stop directly in the town.
Fregene
It is located in north of Fiumicino airport. On summer nights, people gather for aperitivo on the beach.
Singita Miracle Beach is the popular one there and it is not just a beach club but turn a birthday or wedding venue due to request.
