What comes to mind when you think of Christmas? For some, special time spent with family and friends. Others think of gifts under the Christmas tree.

I love festive spirit so much. Everywhere decorated with lights and colors. Many holidays have signature colors. There are several colors which are traditionally associated with Christmas such as red, green, gold and white.

Have you ever wondered why red, green, white and gold are one of the signature colors in Christmas?

Personally, I wondered and I made a research about it. According to my researches green plants like Mistletoe have been used for thousands of years to decorate and brighten up buildings during the long winter. It also  used as a reminder of spring. Now the most popular green plant during Christmas is Christmas tree.

White is often associated with peace, purity and snow. It is also used by most churches as the color of Christmas.

White is also associated with winter solstice festival.

Red associated with blood of Jesus. In general, red is often used to symbolize romance and love, other holiday themes.

Gold is the color of light and sun. It is used in Christmas to bring light into the darkness. Gold also represents wealth, glamour and prosperity.

Nowadays, there are a lot of color options for Christmas. You can mix Christmas colors with the other colors. The popular Christmas color palettes are:
