Staying hydrated is important for health. It is often recommended to drink at least 2 liters of water per day. However, some people add extra ingredients into water to boosts its health benefits and to drink more water.  It is called detox water which helps you get rid of toxins, help you lose weight, better digestion, etc.

Detox water is a water that infused with the flavors of fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables. It has a few calories because made by infusing flavor rather than juicing.

Until a few years ago, I wasn’t drinking so much water even in hot summer time. I started to try homemade detox waters and I love it.

You can make detox water at home in many ways, using any vegetables, herbs and fruits. Before start to prepare your detox water, be aware of benefits of each fruit and vegetable. For example, lemon  is perfect for get rid of toxins.

Making detox water at home is very simple and easy. All you need is water and selection of vegetables, fruits and herbs.

Chop up the ingredients and add them on water. The more ingredients will give more flavor to your water.

Cold detox water is perfect for summer. You can drink it instead of sugary sodas.

Be sure to remove the ingredients some time after, so they don’t begin to decompose.

Here are some detox water recipes;

  • Grapefruit mint

Grapefruit has health benefits such as, increases metabolism.

  • Lemon and ginger

It is one of the best bloat fighter. It is especially good before and during your period.

  • Blueberry lemonade

Skin the sugary drink and go for refereshing blueberry lemonade.

  • Cucumber and mint

It is refreshing and delicious.

  • Apple and cinnamon

Apples are rich in antioxidants and includes Vitamiins C and B.

  • Mint and melon

It is a delicious detox water for summer. Melon is one of the best fruits for fat loss.

  • Lemon and lime

Lemon is an antioxidant which helps flush toxins from the body.

  • Cucumber and lime

Cucumber is known as low calories and contains a lot of minerals and vitamins.

  • Cinnamon and lemon

If you prefer something sweet, cinnamon is healthy way to add some sweetness to your water.

  • Cucumber and pineapple

It is an inflammation fighter water. It is especially good before and during your period. Pineapple has antioxidants.
