Hello Angels,

One of the best things about living in Italy is discovering amazing places. I live in Rome and there are so many wonderful places to explore near to Rome.

Before pandemic, my family was visiting me constantly. With my mother, we were visiting another cities like Florence and Milan and with my father we were hanging around Rome.

When my mother visits me, she stays long but my father stays maximum five days. That’s why we decided to visit all the best places near to Rome with my father.

My father loves to explore new places. He visited almost every country in the world. When I talked about places near to Rome, he gladly accepted to explore these wonderful places.

Orvieto was on my list and we visited there in 2019 around this time.

Orvieto is a town which is located in Umbria. It takes 1 hour 25 minutes by car. The town is exactly between in Rome and Florence so you can also visit from Florence by car.

Umbria is a hidden gem of Italy. There are magnificient villages and towns, wine, olive oil, delicious food, history, culture and amazing landscapes.

The little town of Umbria, Orvieto offers magnificient panoramic views and a historical attractions such as Duomo of Orvieto.

You should visit Duomo because it is nearly 800 years old. The inside of the Cathedral is characterised by black and white striped walls and columns.

The frescoes in the  ceiling of the Chapel of the Madonna di S. Bizio were begun by Fra Angelico in the mid 15th centru and completed by Luca Signorelli about 50 years later.

One of the best things about Orvieto is walking through the Italian side streets between historical attractions.
