Until two, three years ago, I was eating chocolate, biscuit and crackers as a snack. I was eating a few walnuts everyday because of my mother. I always knew benefits of nuts for health but they were not part of my diet.

Exercise and balanced diet are my part of life right now and I love to discover benefits of foods. In today’s post, I would like to talk about benefits of nuts.

Nuts are good snacks (especially when you are at outside). When we are hungry, we tend to eat unhealthy food. Nuts are great savior for these moments.

Nuts contain at least some of these vitamins;

  • Omega -3 fatty acids

  • Unsaturated fats both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats

  • Vitamin E

  • Magnesium

  • Fiber

Nuts benefits are;

  • They help you lose weight. Roasted nuts have more fat and calories than raw ones , so raw ones are better for weight loss.

  • Reduce risk factors such as cholestrol levels and high blood pressure.

  • Reduce Inflammation

Here are the key benefits of a different varieties of nuts;

  • Peanuts

Peanuts are nut tree nuts but they have many healthy benefits. Such as;

  • High in Vitamin E

  • High in folate

  • Boost memory

  • Reduce risk of health disease.

Walnuts

  • High in omega 3 fats

  • Reduce depression

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Improve heart health

Pistachios

  • High in fiber

  • Improve heart disease

Almonds

  • Almonds have highest calcium than the other nuts.

  • Rich in Fiber, magnesium and vitamin E

  • Contains unsaturated fat such as oleic acid ( the same as olive oil)

  • Good for healthy heart, skin and hair.

  • Contains unsaturated fats such as oleic acid

  • Rich in magnesium, Vitamin B, Vitamin E and calcium

  • Good for digestion, muscle and skin

  • Reduce the risk of cancer

  • Some nuts are higher in certain nutrients than other. For example, walnut proves more omega 3 than others.

Brazil Nuts

  • Brazil nuts come from a tree in the Amazon.

  • It is a rich source of selenium

  • Reduce cholesterol level

  • Reduce inflammation
