Hello Angels,

I love to spend time at pool but I don’t prefer to get a tan. I lived in Barcelona for three years and my apartment was only 5 minutes away to one of the best beaches in Barcelona. Those years I was very willing to get a tan. I was lying for hours to get a tan.

I think one of the interesting thing is  I was getting tan very easily in Turkey but I wasn’t getting tan in Barcelona even I was lying for hours.  Now I don’t prefer to get a tan and I do everything to avoid it.

Yes, summer means plenty of sunshine and I am sure that most of you prefer to get a tan. Before you lay out on the beach or pool and stay under the sun, there are a few things you should know. There are several tanning options available that can help you achieve a fast and healthy tan.

  • Right Time

The sun is at its strongest betweehn the hours of 10:00  in the morning to 16:00 in the afternoon. Be cautious of sunbathing within this period. I don’t say don’t sunbath but your skin should be protected with a high quality sunscreen.

  • SPF Sunscreen

Using a low SPF sunscreen is the best way to get a tan is incorrect. Even you use SPF 50, believe me you get a tan. When I go to beach, I use always an umbrella and highest SPF suncreen to avoid tan but Istill get a tan.

Rays put you at risk of premature ageing and skin cancer.  Doctors recommend to use a broad spectrum SPF30 sunscreen. It should be re-applied every two hours.

  • Change Angles

When I was very willing to get a tan, I was using this technique. I was very popular with my taning techniques and my friends were prefering to go to beach with me to learn my techniques 😀

Try to change your angles every 15 – 20 minutes. This will help you get a nice tan and help you avoid direct exposure on specific body parts  which may cause burns and tan lines).

Hydrate

Hydration from the inside out is an essential for healthy tan. Drink plenty of water when you are in direct sunlight to prevent dehydration.

Sun Friendly Diet

There are food can protect your skin sunburn and prolong your tan. Certain foods increace lycopene. Lycopene is the body’s own SPF.  It is found in red and orange fruits and vegetables. It can boost your sun protection.

Antioxidant polyphenol can help with having a tan too. You can try to eat some dark chocolate and drink green tea.
