Hello Angels,

Ashure known as Noah’s pudding in the western world. It is one of the most popular Turkish dessert that is made of mixture consisting dried fruits, boiling legumes, spices and nuts.

In addition to these ingredients, you can put almost anything you want in the pot. For example you can put pistachios instead of hazelnuts.

Also you can flavor it with orange zest and orange juice.

Ashure comes with a social and religious importance. It is often served on the 10th day of the Muharram month which is the first month of the Islamic lunar calender.

Every Muharram month, people cook and share ashure with their family, friends and neighbors.

According to legend, after the flood Noah made this dish for people who survived with the last ingredients left.

When I was kid, I was only loving desserts with chocolate (chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, etc). Recent years, I prefer healthy food and Ashure is one the most healthy desserts in Turkish cuisine.

I didn’t know how to prepare Ashure until this year. Today, I cook ashure first time in my life with my family.

Cooking ashure always seemed to me difficult but I realized that it is easy to cook it.

It is a very delicious and healthy dessert and I highy recommend you to cook it.

Have you ever eaten or cooking ashure? Let me know it below.
